MDesign was asked to also design Global Locate’s web site. As with other materials, we continued the established “look” by retaining Futura as the main typeface and incorporating the borders used previously on the data sheets; the borders were created in numerous colors to help differentiate between the various sections of the site. Seven main pages were set up along subject lines, and we worked with the company’s marketing team to develop copy of the proper length. Many of the main pages had sub pages (linked through menus in tinted boxes) that further expanded on issues discussed therein; these pages retained the color scheme of the parent page. While color-coded for organizational purposes, each individual page was given its own distinct personality through the use of a unique photograph of someone using mobile technology. Ease-of-navigation was established through buttons and links to the main pages located at the top and bottom of each page, and the subpage boxes on expanded sections. Downloadable PDF’s were available, and a press release archive was set up.
