| Interview
magazine hired us to create an invitation to a special screening they
were sponsoring at New Yorks French Film Festival. We discussed
numerous ways to communicate not just the idea of film, but cinema
in its most classic form. The final concept used both a straight-forward
representation of the base media married to an homage to the
work of the great film title designer Saul Bass. A variety of colors
were chosen for the film strips to convey the diverse nature of the
French film industry. The purple strip on the left of this cover was
continued on the back of the invitation, and the simple, modern typeface
utilized on the cover was used inside for the screening information.
The magazine reported a huge response, with many compliments on the
fresh design of the invitation. |
