To further develop its brand and deliver important health news to its patients, Continuum Health Partners asked MDesign to develop and produce a monthly bilingual (English and Spanish) newsletter that would be distributed throughout the hospital system’s four centers and numerous clinics and doctors’ offices. To keep the size and costs of the newsletter down, we decided on an 17" x 11" format that would be folded in half to create a four-page, letter-size document, with English on two pages and the Spanish version inverted on the remaining two, and two-color printing. A flexible grid pattern was developed that would easily accomodate the two languages and changes in copy length, and it was resolved that the second color of should change monthly, not only for variety, but to help distinguish visually between issues. Lively illustrations by Randall Enos complete each edition. Continuum has had a tremendous response to the newsletter, with overwhelming positive comment from both patients and executives. PDF versions of the newsletter are also prepared and posted on the Continuum website.
